A modified version of "Fudgies I" in "1001 cookie recipes" Fudge Nut Cookies ----------------- 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 cup butter 1 cup dark brown sugar 1 tbsp light corn syrup 2 tbsp cream (try half/half or milk?) 1 large egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup chocolate chips (melted) 1/2 cup chocolate chips 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1. Preheat the ove to 350 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper 2. Melt 1 cup chocolate chips and remove from heat 2. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt 3. In a large bowl, cream the butter with the sugar. Beat in the corn syrup and cream. 4. Beat in the melted chocolate a little at a time. 5. Beat in the egg followed by the vanilla. 6. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients 7. Fold in the walnuts and chocolate chips 8. Drop the dough by the tablespoonful, 1-1/2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheets and flatten slightly 9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until firm to the touch. Transfer to wire racks to cool. Yield: 4-6 dozen
